Full Version: cartridge light flashing... 2 different printers

Hoping someone can help with this one. I had a older Lexmark printer that was working fine until I upgraded my video card, motherboard, and processor. Now the printer won't print. It just moves the cartridge to the spot where you would change it at, and the light starts flashing. I figured it was just empty, so I replaced the cartridge. Still does the same thing.

I then borrowed a friend's Canon (bjc-4550) and it does the same thing as the lexmark printer.

The only difference between the 2 printers, is the lexmark one could be turned off, and back on, and it would then print the document. And the problem isn't specific to any one program.

I'm stuck wondering if there's a hardware conflict, or if the parallel port on the new board is messed up..... any ideas?.

Hi

At first try to disconnect the printer and make a auto-test
