EPSON 460 IN XP

I used to run ME, after upgrading to XP, that`s where all my printer problems began. My printer is Epson stylus color 460 and it uses a parallel connection. I already updated it`s drivers to be compatible with XP but still it won`t run. Tried to check the port if it is LPT(ECP). Just to be sure that the printer is okey, I connected it to a laptop running W2k and it works. Just wondering whether I`m just missing something to make it run in XP. I`ll appreciate any suggestion and advice for this. Thanks
