Slow C82 printer on iMac

I'm having a problem with slow (and I mean VERY slow) printing.

I recently reformatted my Hard disk and reinstalled all of the software, including the latest firmware update - aah!, that feels good!

But NO, it didn't feel good because everything seemed slower. Particularly my C82 printer.

The iMac is a 350Mhz CRT model with 128Mb Ram and running OS9.2.

I have tried giving everything more memory, particularly 'Epson Monitor 3'.

But nothing seems to get me back to the super-fast printing I used to get... what's going on?

Please help.
