X73 showing up as Z42

I was printing yesterday when I lost communication with printer. After shutting power off to printer and then turning it back on it loaded as a Z42 Color inkjet.

I have removed the x73 drivers and reinstalled and when prompted to attach usb cable I get the new hardware found for Z42.

After spending an hour with Lexmark support all I ended up with was having to re-activate my windows xp.

When I do get the X73 driver to load I get a message that the printer installed in not an X73 incorrect device ID or cache format.

I have Windows XP Pro and this is the first problem I have had using the X73. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
